Una is located in the south-western part of the state in Himachal Pradesh and it is a vital city as the headquarter of Una district. Una is often called as the “Gateway to Himachal Pradesh” due to the reason that most of the travelers visiting the state of Himachal Pradesh from Punjab pass through Una. The city of Una is one of the important cities of the state of Himachal Pradesh due to its unique combination of natural beauty, religious belief, industrialization and modern facilities.

                                                                        History

Una's history goes back to earliest times. Various dynasties have ruled over the region. This region was once part of Punjab but reorganised the region in 1966 and became part of the state of Himachal Pradesh. The growth of Una has since been vivid and has turned it into a significant trading, industrial and tourist hub.

                                                                        Natural Beauty

The topography of the Una is somewhat different from other hilly districts of HP. The region is a mixture of plain and hilly regions. The clean environment, the beautiful hills of the Shivalik range and green fields make the city all the more lovely. The natural landscape is even more pleasing in the monsoon season.

Baba Balak Nath Ji is worshipped in the famous temple of Baba Balak Nath Ji which is situated at a certain distance from Una. The temple has a huge number of devotees coming to it throughout the year and grand religious fairs are organised here every year.

Around two Una and Bilaspur regions one can find the Gobind Sagar Lake as a major natural attraction. The reservoir is located in the Bhakra Dam area, which is known for its natural beauty and peaceful surroundings.
